Parts of Bangkok, Samut Prakan hit by high-tide floods

SEVERAL areas of Bangkok and Samut Prakan were flooded today (Oct. 13) due to high tide raising the Chao Phraya river level with floodwater flowing into some houses too, Matichon newspaper said.

At noon today the flooding at kilometre 25 of Borommaratchachonnani road, both inbound and outbound, reached 30 centimetres with tailbacks on both sides stretching 1.5 km and small cars unable to pass.

At 9.49 a.m. this morning Rama 3 road was flooded at Industrial Ring Road and Yanawa intersections with cars able to pass slowly.

Houses too have been flooded as a result of the high tide mainly at Wat Klang temple in Pak Nam, along the outbound side of Chaiyapruek road and in front of Bang Chak Temple.
