AROUND 14 people were injured this evening (August 20) after an escalator at BTS Surasak station suddenly started descending rapidly throwing them down, Daily News and The Standard said.
Rescuers from Ruam Katanyu Foundation quickly rushed there and took those injured to Taksin, Charoenkrung Pracharak, and Chulalongkorn hospitals for treatment.
They said that the structure of this escalator had collapsed but the main frame was not damaged.
Moreover there was also a concert at nearby Bangkok Christian School.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
