Demonstration continues at October 14 Memorial despite rain

A DEMONSTRATION organised by the Ramkhamhaeng for Democracy Network continued at the October 14 Memorial on Ratchadamnoen Avenue today (Oct. 3) despite a heavy downpour, Matichon newspaper said.

Entitle “October 3 chase out Prayut” the protesters pressuring Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to step down started gathering from 3.30 p.m. onwards with there being stalls selling products with symbols of democracy such as scarves with an image of the 1932 Revolution brass plaque embedded in the asphalt of the Royal Plaza by the original People’s Party, messages from the new People’s Party and stickers with “Chase Prayut” printed on them.

At 3.45 p.m. it started raining heavily and the demonstrators took shelter in nearby areas and later regrouped at the rally site.

At 4.20 p.m. Mr. Sek Suebpong Wongsamak, or Benz, of Ramkhamhaeng for Democracy Network, and Mr. Krishna Kaikaew, or Freud, opened the stage with Mr. Chokdee Rompruek, or Alex, and a group of songwriters for the people starting to sing various anti-dictatorship songs.
