AS THE coronavirus in Bangkok has worsened over the past two days with daily count reaching almost 4,000 cases the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration said today (July 29) it is accelerating negotiations to purchase Moderna vaccine to inoculate the residents, Amarin TV said.
BMA also denied having any conflicts with the Public Health Ministry, pointing out that the two government units were working together throughout.
For next month, Bangkok is getting 680,000 doses of vaccine from Thai Ruam Jai online vaccination registration unit with another 1.2 million doses to be administered together with the Public Health Ministry.
Pol Capt Pongsakorn Kwanmuang, BMA’s spokesperson, said the pandemic situation in the capital is now at a crisis point with the number of daily cases over the past two days reaching almost 4,000.
Effort is being made to curb the spread of infection with a lockdown and reducing the movement of people.
Regarding workers camps, he said even after their closure ends bubble and seal measures would be imposed to reduce the workers’ interaction with others and thus curb further spread of coronavirus.
Should infection from these camps start spreading again then the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) will be consulted.
