A PROCESSION OF AUTOMOBILES today (July 3) took to the streets in the heartland of Bangkok in a sustained move to press Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha to quit.
Pro-democracy activist Sombat Boonngam-anong led the procession of about 200 sedans, pickup trucks and motorcycles in the anti-Prayut protest on Rajadamnern Avenue which passed Democracy Monument, Sanam Luang ground, crossed Pin Klao Bridge over Chao Phraya River to the Thonburi side, took a u-turn to come back to the Phra Nakhon side and headed to Rajaprasong Intersection area.

Not only the vehicles in the procession but those passing by hooted their horns to dramatise the anti-Prayut protest on the streets where policemen in uniform looked to keep the road traffic flowing.
Meanwhile, other protesters led by Jatuporn Prompan of the Thais Do Not Tolerate activist group peacefully gathered and walked from Rajadamnern Avenue toward Government House.
However, they were stopped by barricades and barbed where riot police stood on behind on a street barely 100 metres from Government House.
Jatuporn vowed that such street protests will be organised every Saturday until Gen. Prayut steps down or is somehow ousted from power.
