THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) this afternoon (April 28) revealed details of the 15 coronavirus fatalities that occurred over the past 24 hours with nine patients having died in Bangkok, Sanook.com said.
Earlier the Public Health Ministry’s Disease Control Department said there were 2,012 new Covid cases over the past day, a little lower than yesterday’s 2,179 cases in all, with this raising the cumulative confirmed total to 61,699.
Altogether 34,402 patients have been cured while 27,119 are still undergoing treatment.
The additional 15 fatalities, equal to yesterday’s total, took the toll to 178.
Of the new batch of cases, 1,893 emerged in service systems and 108 were found through proactive search in communities. Eleven overseas arrivals entered state quarantine.
A breakdown of today’s fatalities is as follows:
– Bangkok: 9;
– Chiang Mai: 2;
– Samut Prakan: 2;
– Chonburi 1;
– Ranong 1.
Underlying diseases and risk factors:
– High blood pressure;
– Diabetes;
– Heart disease;
– Hyperlipidemia,;
– Chronic lung disease / asthma;
– Chronic kidney disease;
– Toxic thyroid;
– Obesity;
– Alzheimer’s.
Risk factors for the infection:
– Contact with infected people in the family – 10;
– Touching an infected person at work – 2;
– Going to an entertainment venue – 1;
– Close contact with sick neighbour – 1;
– Close contact with friends at gym -1.
Eleven of those who died were male and four female with the average age being 61 (35-88 years).
