Emergency extended 2 months, Songkran water splashing banned

THE Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced today (March 19) that the emergency decree is being extended for two more months from April 1, 2021 to May 31, 2021 while water splashing is banned this Songkran, Sanook.com said.

Dr. Taweesilp Visanuyothin, CCSA’s spokesman, said although water splashing is not allowed this time people may travel to all provinces nationwide.

The focus of marking the Thai New Year should be on religious activities and paying respects to elders according to the traditions or the format set by the Cultural Ministry.

People should refrain from organizing large gatherings and get-togethers should be held in the open air with good ventilation and not in confined or air-conditioned rooms.

They should avoid close contacts with others and not smear powder on each other nor hold concerts and foam parties.

They should stick to the D-M-H-T-T guidelines, that is Distancing, Mask wearing, Hand washing, Testing temperature and Thai Chana app which they should check in and out of when entering and leaving any place.
