A GROUP of protesters from Nakhon Ratchasima are today (March 7) marching from Kasetsart intersection to the Democracy Monument, a distance of 15 kilometres, and once there will be holding an anti-government rally till 9 p.m., Thai Rath newspaper said.
Led by Mr. Jarupat Boonpattararaksa, or Phai Dao Din, this group of protesters had marched a long distance from the northeastern city to Bangkok, reaching the capital yesterday morning then headed to Kasetsart University where they held a rally last evening.
According to their schedule, their first break will at Lotus Lat Phrao shopping mall, the second one at Big C supercenter in Saphan Kwai area, at noon they will take a lunch break at Victory Monument, after that there will be another stop at the overpass in front of the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Board.
The protesters expect to reach the Democracy Monument at 5 p.m. and will hold their activities there till 9 p.m. They will be announcing the next step of the “ordinary people who do not have Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha and his people around anymore.” They are calling for the release of their friends, that the Constitution come from the people and the society be equal and fair.
Meanwhile Professor Charnvit Kasetsiri, former rector of Thammasat University, showed up to cheer the marchers. He said he is concerned about protesters who have been arrested and want them all to be bailed out and for them then to legally fight the charges.
