Tachileik hotel DJ found infected with coronavirus in Chiang Mai

A THAI MAN who worked as a DJ at the hotel in Tachileik Myanmar border town which is the centre of a new wave of Covid-19 infections was confirmed to be infected with this deadly disease in Chiang Mai city today (Dec. 4), Sanook.com reported this evening.

The 32-year-old man is a native of Chiang Mai and fled 1G1 Hotel in Tachileik on November 30 after starting to suffer from itchiness, nasal congestion and loss of sense of smell. 

He sneaked across the border to Mae Sai district in Chiang Rai province where he spent one night, then went to Chiang Rai city where he spent the next night.

After that he rode his motorcycle to Chiang Mai city where he stayed alone in a hotel room and only once went out to a convenience store to buy food and always had a face mask on outdoors.

Yesterday morning he went to Nakhon Ping Hospital for a test with his infection being confirmed the same afternoon.

He is this northern city’s 45th coronavirus patient and there were no high-risk contacts with five persons at low-risk level being found at the hotel and convenience store.
